I didn’t used to think of myself as a fundraiser or business development professional. Except being a strategist for small businesses and non-profit organizations means that marketing and communications go hand-in-hand with both fundraising and business development, and often times fundamental to the bottom line.

Additionally, serving on two boards and working closely with a third on behalf of a client means that I’ve been part of many conversations on financial stewardship, and led several of them.

In the last three years, I have increased advertising revenues, and secured sponsorships and generous donations for the Vienna Choral Society. I have also pushed, implemented, and refined additional sources of revenue and programs such as a membership structure, ticketing, online fundraising campaigns, and the recent Amazon Smile program.
